The future is you(th) and this is our town halL

On October 1, 2019, high school and post-secondary students from the Niagara Region will take the reins this election, and facilitate a town hall by students, for students. Candidates from the ridings of St. Catharines and Niagara Centre from the federal Liberal, Conservative, Green, and NDP parties will be present to take questions from over 100 students.

This event was organized by several youth-led groups at Brock University including campus political clubs, Brock Model United Nations, Future Majority and First Vote, with support from the Niagara Falls MYAC. Being this election’s biggest voting bloc, youths aged 18-25 have significant potential to influence the 2019 federal election, yet have historically held the lowest voter turnout. These youths seek to change history and make their voices heard. The event organizers plan to create a safe environment to engage in dialogue that is inclusive of all political views, perspectives, and concerns voiced by youth. Their goal is for students to leave with a new perspective about Canadian politics and how they can make a difference in their country with their vote.

This event is free to all youths to attend on October 1, 2019, at Brock University. The town hall portion of the event is from 5:00 - 7:00pm and a networking reception will follow from 7:00 - 8:00pm. The event will be held at Pond Inlet, with light refreshments to be provided. Security will be provided at this event to ensure that it is safe and inclusive for all. The future is you(th). Now is our time to influence the nation.
