Brock University holds First Vote for Grade 12 students in Niagara

After listening to the speakers and guests, student, Bert Bossert, said he understands that even though he may agree with his family, he can still speak for himself.

He called First Vote an amazing opportunity and said there are many young people, like himself, who have basic knowledge about what’s happening but don’t fully understand why or how.

The 18-year-old said he will definitely be voting in the upcoming federal election.

“For them to have this type of day, and learn the things they did, is of great value as they consider casting a vote for the first time,” he said. “It’s clear they understand some of the issues and that they want to be engaged and informed.”
